Cleveland CG14 Black Pearl Wedge with Standard Bounce

The initial thought when swinging a golf club is, the harder I hit the ball the better, and although it may feel good to whack the ball hard it will not make the ball go where or as far as you want it to go.
Hitting a golf ball hard is great for venting, however if you want to improve your golf game your going to control that power and hold back a bit.
Swinging a golf club too hard is probably the most common mistake made in golf. In golf power is nothing and accuracy is everything.
While swinging put your feet together and try to relax, this will reduce the force being sent to the ball. Being too tense will focus an undesirable amount of energy into the swing.
Your gravity should be centered at all times. Your head and feet should not move throughout your swing, this will help maintain a stable center of gravity.
It is essential to keep your feet planted. Do not jerk your body, keep your movements as fluid as possible. If your body jerks your head moves affecting your focus on the ball.
Using very little energy is the goal. If the ball is hit correctly the movement should feel smooth and easy.
To help fix slicing try and hit the ball as centered and low as possible. If the ball goes too high it is affected by the wind and the outcome is unpredictable.
You want to swing with only the amount of energy you can control. Accuracy is the key you should use no more energy then needed. A good swing will take the ball where you want it to go.
Distance comes from technique not how hard you hit the ball. Start off slow then increase your speed until you can hit the ball solidly. If your swing is not smooth your probably pulling your hands during your swing. Remember to keep your head still for a smooth swing.
You must at an appropriate speed. To ensure good golfing don't swing too slow, it'll make your swing stiff, or too fast, it'll cause you to lose control.
So remember relax and keep your power in check because accuracy is the name of this game, not power.
